Know what you mean. Lived there from 90-96. My best friend/former shipmate grew up there in Burien, nice part of the city with the older Boeing employees lived. Still blue collar middle class then. Still mostly Dem, but old school union de Dem, hunters and fishermen. When he got me to move up there for work, him and I lived east of the cascades, fishing and hunting the portholes conservation area. 5 years ago, my friend had enough with the gun grabbing and watching Seattle go from a chill kinda hippie yupster to blue hairs and trannys
He called me and said “Spankster, I’m done. I can telecommute from MO, and carry what I want pretty much when I want”. I have no desire to go visit Seattle at time soon.
I met a lot of Miami Cubans whenI lived in Boca Raton. Liked to drive down early saturday mornings, shop in Cuban area for interesting foods I couldn’t buy anywhere else and had a friend, Roberto, who was from Cuba. Little Havana was fun and people in the stores were almost all pleased to see me there.
