“Patel brought down the SPLC. Do you understand what a massive victory that is for us?”
Saying that anyone “brought down” the SPLC is, at best, very premature. At worst, it is, frankly, hilarious.
The SPLC has been charged and indicted. A grand jury indictment (obtained when the defendant can’t present a defense) doesn’t mean much. I predict that, in the short term, this indictment will BENEFIT the SPLC’s fundraising. There will be a backlash against what the organization’s supporters perceive as a politically motivated persecution.
In the longer term, there’s a good chance that this case will go absolutely nowhere.
