The Dangerous Endgame of 'He Must Be Stopped'
American Thinker ^ | 4 May, 2026 | Brian C. Joondep

Investigate him. Impeach him. Indict him. Demonize him. When none of it works — what comes next?

For nearly a decade, Donald Trump has been the most investigated, scrutinized, and politically targeted figure in modern American history.

That’s not hyperbole. It’s his résumé.

From the moment he descended the escalator in June 2015, the full apparatus of opposition snapped into place. Not routine political disagreement or opposition research, but something far more sustained: intelligence leaks, media narratives, fabricated dossiers, bureaucratic resistance, and cultural condemnation, all rowing in the same direction.

The premise was simple.

Something would stick.

Anything would stick.

Nothing did.

Rewind the tape. Russian collusion. Endless demands for tax returns. Two impeachments. Jan. 6 recast as an insurrection. A steady drip of allegations — some serious, some sensational, some quietly abandoned when they didn’t pan out. Each introduced with breathless urgency and a familiar promise:

This is the one. We have him now.

Think of Wile E. Coyote and the Roadrunner.

Wile E. Coyote fell off the cliff and the Roadrunner scooted away.

Naturally, the strategy evolved.

When narrative failed, prosecution followed. Enter “lawfare” — the weaponization of the legal process as a political strategy. Indictments multiplied. Novel legal theories emerged. Statutes of limitations changed. The net widened — not just around Trump, but around his associates, attorneys, aides, and, if possible, anyone who ever shook his hand or voted for him.

Someone needs to stop the Nazi in Maine before he has his Beer Hall Putsch.

That guy is scary. He's openly advocating ignoring the Constitution.

How about we skip another bloody Republican-Democrat War this time around and actually use Article V?

Because there is no way to get 3/4 of the States to ratify the product.

Trump won the last election rather convincingly and the left doesn’t go after half the country but go after one man? Why is that?

Because their control of the election machinery is so vast that they think they can always win once he's out of the way. There is no other Republican with the prominence and balls to call the real problem with the servers, illegal registrations, mail in sorting and substitution...

The communists thought they were winning then Trump got in their way.

Oh, they were winning. And unless Trump is followed by someone just like him (and who is just like him??) they will start winning again. He's only got 2.5 years left to undo a century of slow march. I am in awe of him, but he is only one man. If he manages to turn this around single-handedly, comparisons to Jesus will no longer be inappropriate, at least in terms of cultural revolution.

“How about we skip another bloody Republican-Democrat War this time around and actually use Article V?”

Because we would lose the 2nd Amendment. Bet on it. That is the money shot. They can’t fully subjugate us until they can “legally” disarm us. Don’t fall for the “convention of states”. It’s a trap.

And because Americans — despite everything — still retain the right to decide for themselves.

Sort of, sometimes, in some places.

“t is because Trump makes them all look bad both on the left and the right. He gets shit done, and under budget most times...”

True words.

VERY true words!

You are absolutely correct. That is why they hate him so much. They thought all the pieces were in place for their 'transformation' of this wonderful nation into something most of us wouldn't recognize. They were coming after us just like they are coming after him.

I was fired from a public school teaching job partially (and other teuthful conservative commentary) for saying way back then that Obama was a Socialist. He was and is far worse than that. Should be a way to sue for lost retirement.

Everyone involved in corrupting elections needs to die.

Changing through amendments remains the best way. If we truly reach the Article V moment, it'll be more appropriate to fix bayonets and solve the problem for generations to come.
