Daily Mail & Gateway Pundit making a mountain out of a sub-nanometer sized molehill for hits an clicks!

It’s a CIA FBIS report from 1950. FBIS (Now called DNI Open Source Center) job was to collected and record open source (unclassified) publications and broadcasts. The article it referenced was published originally in Priroda. Priroda is a monthly popular science journal of the Russian Academy of Sciences that covers various natural science topics. This journal was first published in January 1912. Doubtful when collected it was read by anyone in the Intelligence Community knowledgeable in medical let alone cancer research to know whether it was important or not. Since it was an open unclassified science journal it was likely available to the Library of Congress. Maybe available but not translated, getting open source collected Russian publications translated was hard in those days. Also could be available in the library of every major medical school, research center in the US. Again Russian translation services for these institutions might not be readily available.

Anyway it’s just more fun to hyperventilate about the “sinister” CIA! You get more clicks and attention and the cash register goes “ka-ching”! That’s what “public” journalism now is all about.
