Wasn’t the race traditionally run earlier in the day. Sounds like they’re racing an hour before sundown?

Yesterday, the Kentucky Oaks (for fillies) was actually run under lights for the first time.

50 years ago start time was around 4:30-5pm ET.

Today’s Derby is the 12th and final race of the day.
