explains how Lyndon LaRouche shaped her worldview, teaching her to look past media narratives and study the hidden financial systems, power structures, and historical forces behind world events. From British banking networks to drug money laundering and the origins of communism, she argues the real truth is always buried beneath the “official story".

No, but there’s something about Marxism that breaks out everywhere, like spores from poisonous mushrooms.

---- "No, but there’s something about Marxism that breaks out everywhere, like spores from poisonous mushrooms."

I don't understand the first word of your response. Thereafter we are fully in agreement.

As I obeserved from your link:

"Source: BBC Third Programme talk, November 1948, republished in Isaac Deutscher, Heretics and Renegades and Other Essays (Hamish and Hamilton, London, 1955). Scanned and prepared for the Marxist Internet Archive by Paul Flewers."

There's just something about London, then and now.....

To further the link to London....

London: Eyre & Spottiswoode, LTD. 1920.

You don’t think Trump is Socialist, nearly every person in Congress can be labeled a Socialist. Some more radical, taking it to the totalitarian level, but when you take other peoples money for food stamps, and even Social Security, it is Socialism. Allowing elected officials to invest in stocks and securities first is also Socialism. They drive up the prices to benefit themselves ABOVE taxpayers.

I’m not against SS, but it could be a complete privately held fund for employees. Where they put it in, get interest on the investment, and can take it when they reach a certain age. ALL THEIR FUNDS, not shared with non working bums. Same with Food Stamps, it can be funded with private charities..... and people GETTING AN EFFIN’ JOB. Are we aware of how much 1 Trillion dollars in debt is? Is the US in debt to the tune of 2T, 10T or is in 40T?

---- "You have poor reading comprehension."

Thanks for your thoughtful and liberal continuation of a discussion.

To recap:

"...BBC Third Programme talk, November 1948, republished in Isaac Deutscher, Heretics and Renegades and Other Essays (Hamish and Hamilton, London, 1955)."

And that other fine work: "London: Eyre & Spottiswoode, LTD. 1920."

I'll clarify, "No YES, but there's something about Marxism that breaks out everywhere, like spores from poisonous mushrooms.

To add to the thread....

"The first English translation of the first volume of Capital was edited by Engels and published in 1886. Marx had in the meantime made some changes in the text of the second German edition and of the French translation, both of which appeared in 1873, and he had intended to superintend personally the edition of an English version. But the state of his health interfered with this plan. Engels utilised his notes and the text of the French edition of 1873 in the preparation of a third German edition, and this served as a basis for the first edition of the English translation. "

Source: FIRST COMPLETE ENGLISH TRANSLATION OF MARX'S CAPITAL

"When, soon after the author's death in 1883, it became evident that an English edition of the work was really required, Mr. Samuel Moore, for many years a friend of Marx and of the present writer, and than whom, perhaps, no one is more conversant with the book itself, consented to undertake the translation which the literary executors of Marx were anxious to lay before the public. It was understood that I should compare the MS. with the original work, and suggest such alterations as I might deem advisable. When, by and by, it was found that Mr. Moore's professional occupations prevented him from finishing the translation as quickly as we all desired, we gladly accepted Dr. Aveling's offer to undertake a portion of the work; at the same time Mrs. Aveling, Marx's youngest daughter, offered to check the quotations and to restore the original text of the numerous passages taken from English authors and Blue books and translated by Marx into German. This has been done throughout, with but a few unavoidable exceptions."

1886 PREFACE TO THE ENGLISH EDITION

"Samuel Moore (1 December 1838 – 20 July 1911) was an English translator, lawyer and colonial administrator.[1] He is best known for the first English translation of Das Kapital and the only authorised translation of The Communist Manifesto which was thoroughly verified and supplied with footnotes by Friedrich Engels." [ Wiki ]

Part of the reason that "there's something about Marxism that breaks out everywhere, like spores from poisonous mushrooms."

From Brussels and London, and then Paris, Moscow and Chicago.... And of late the Democrats and Democratic Socialists of America "with close to 80,000 members and about 250 chapters." Spores from the poisonous mushrooms, incubated to a large extent in Marx' London, it turns out.

LaRouche struck me as a political chameleon with no identifiable center.

I used to see LaRouchies hanging around political events back in the ‘80s but I never could figure out what point they were trying to make.

They would be dressed in suits handing out material. Made me think of a white Nation of Islam handing out bean pies.

Karl Marx wrote op-eds for the New York Tribune in the 1850s and 1860s, and his minions were active in US politics, particularly among radical abolitionists. Acolytes of Marx were partly responsible for shifting the early Republican Party away from their reasonable platform of non-extension to one of intrusive abolitionism.

I doubt that the British government had anything to do with this, however. The "British Monarchy rules the world" is right up there with Lizard People stories.

---- "That tip about chopping up your psych meds still goes."

Thanks for yet further content-filled discussion on a thread, the title of which ends with "The Communist History Britain Buried."

--- Karl Marx lived in London for 34 years, from 1849 until his death in 1883.

--- Karl Marx arrived in London in 1849 as a refugee and spent the rest of his life there, shaping his theories on capitalism. He lived in various parts of London, including Soho and Kentish Town, and worked on his famous works like "Das Kapital" in the British Museum Reading Room.

---- Karl Marx is bured in London. In 1884, on the first anniversary of Marx's death, between 5 and 6,000 people marched from Tottenham Court Road to the grave only to be turned away by police who, afraid of riots, had closed the cemetery. Marx was initially buried about 100m north but in 1956, in response to the interest in the grave, it was moved to its present location and this impressive memorial erected, funded by the British Communist Party.

---- It was in London that Marx produced most of his significant works, including Das Kapital, and became the leading figure in the international socialist movement.

---- The Communist Party of Great Britain (CPGB) was the largest communist organisation in Britain and was founded in 1920 through a merger of several smaller Marxist groups. Dissolved in 1991, to be replaced by a new party. Oddly....

---- The current Communist Party in Britain "All Britain office" ( communistparty.org.uk ) is hq'd at Ruskin House 23 Coomb Road Croydon England CR0 1BD ( South London )

You are correct: Bakunin was Russian, but participated in several revolutionary movements in different countries in Europe.

And Karl Heinrich Marx was, sorry, never called Moses Mordechai Levy. I think that was the name of his great-grandfather. The son of the latter converted to Protestantism, and his grandson was an atheist.

But the grandson, who called himself a philosopher, became mostly famous for his half-baked philosophical theories, mostly a vulgar blend of the teachings of Fichte and Hegel.

"...following Bakunin's involvement in the revolutionary movement in 1848, ensured that he remained a well known figure in Europe, even as he languished first in the Peter and Paul Fortress in Petersburg, then in Shlusselburg prison, and finally in Siberia, after he was handed over to the Russian authorities in 1851. This probably explains why his arrival in London was announced in the regional press: ‘Michael Bakunin, the celebrated Russian refugee, has arrived in London. A deputation of working men last week waited on the indomitable exile, introduced by M. Herzen, and presented him with an address of welcome’ (Newcastle Courant, 31 January 1862, p. 6)."

Russians in London: Mikhail Bakunin

She adds, late in the article, of a second visit to London, Herzen and Marx, disagreeing about methods for a revolution and the detail that even the locations of residences is being tracked historically. Basically all these socialist/Communist philosophers busied themselves with words, quite like today's "Let's you and he fight, and I'll hold your coat." That avowed "Rooskie" is buried in Switzerland, "Bremgarten Cemetery of Bern, box 9201, grave 68."

And the correction as to the comment that somehow "Moses Mordechai Levy" meant something to the discussion is apt. Marx was not a Jew by religious affiliation, period. His "Satan" poems are examples of his idiocy. but the thread has been, in part, an attempt to somehow shield London -- home to Marx as well as temporary home ( twice ) to Bakunin -- from historical verities is amusing.

Alles gute.

Levi was the family name, even if it was changed. The conversion to Lutheranism by his father was feigned so he could continue practicing law under a new Prussian edict, which he appealed and failed.
