A missile strike on a CVN would probably cause a reactor scram which could be worse than the actual damage caused by the missile warhead -- depending.

That is why I think we need a mix of CV's and CVN's.

The HMS Hood was one of the only ships lost in WWII listed as “blown up” and not “sunk”.
