It was, at best, an afterthought. The primary concern was the country that has Death To America tattooed on every leader’s body would have nuclear weapons.
We’ve been at war with Iran since 1979 and Trump is the first president to take it seriously and is willing to keep their head pressed into the dirty until they give up. Hopefully Congress won’t undercut him at the expense to America’s core interests. But politicians of late are not interested in America or Americans. Even some with an R after their name can be relied on to vote down America’s interests.

The time to ask Congress for a ceasefire-based extension has long passed. The resident Mohammedans would have screamed at Democrats to give Trump one if Trump refused a ceasefire until an extension was granted by Congress.

Regime change was the primary objective. The proof is that the operation was prematurely launched without our military bases hardened against Iranian counter attacks and military assets in place to conduct the operation. Now that that the primary objective has failed we will see this gaslighting spin and Mission Accomplished BS.

Iran has been under its current rule as an Islamic Republic for over 47 years, following the 1979 revolution that overthrew the Shah. (Which wasn’t a lot different) The regime, a theocratic republic, was officially established by a referendum on April 1, 1979, and cemented by a new constitution passed in December 1979.
The US had the same problem with he Brits in the 18th century and we changed it, Going out in the streets and screaming isn’t going to get it done. When the regime acts in violence, they force it in return and it hasn’t happened near enough to cause a change. They have to be pafrt of the equation and they aren’t.
