Apocalyptic Twelvers win the prize for wackiest sect in Islam. I have seen many made up (man made) religions such as Scientology and older ones too. Such as the Aztec devils and the ancient Egyptians. But Twelvers top them all.

I'd be careful about that assumption, given the islamic principle of taqiyya. The commie-socialist persona got him elected; the Twelver side is waiting to get out, biding its time.
