That is a standard perspective for security forces. They don't let their principles hang around after an incident.

Well, I just lost a bet. They announced that they are resuming the dinner.
Now, I wonder if President Trump will override his security team and return to the event.

Saw a report that one Secret Service Agent was shot in the lobby and has been transported to a hospital.
They have said nothing to the people in the ballroom. But Wolf Blitzer was in the lobby during the shooting and must have told people in the room.
President Trump will not be returning to the event, per announcements. "The President will have a press conference at the White House in 30 minutes".
