Every day of every year is the anniversary of some notable event. No one can observe them all, not even/ or especially not a very busy sitting president. He may consider appointing a cabinet member whose sole responsibility is observing and ‘celebrating’ at least one dozen special events for every day of the year, barring two weeks he’s on vacation.
I am not diminishing the terrible treatment the Armenians received mostly from the Turks. The Greeks have a very similar complaint, also about the Turks. China has a history where many of their women were abused and tortured by the Japanese during the Nanjing Massacre.
