Wow! I violated FR protocol and read the article. She did this to her coworker AFTER the police were already there. She was being told to leave for refusing care to a patient. And the leave process, if I understand it correctly, included taking a moment to count her medications (apparently it's a check-in, check-out process similar to a cashier counting her drawer at the end of a shift). But she took so long to do that, obviously stalling, that the police were called to get her out.
It was at that point that she went into a patient's room and got a soiled diaper to smear onto her coworker's face. I guess because it was obvious that her career was over and she felt she had nothing to lose.
