Justified or not, Powell’s prosecution at this point is moot. His term is up in May and there is ZERO to be gained from holding up the confirmation vote on his successor on what is, in DC swamp terms, a relatively minor charge.

Agree. But, I still don’t understand why Tillis was so adamant about not investigating Powell. Wonder why he is protecting him?
