I think Elon decided to buy Twitter once he guested on the Babylon Bee podcast and found out what it had done to the Bee for the joke about awarding Man of the Year to Biden’s tranny Levine.

10 billion out of 441 million unique visitors?
Ilhan Omar math?

Musk fired 80% of Twitter staff when he bought it, and Twitter/X is now multiples larger now

There were A LOT of FBI and CIA people on pre-Musk Twitter staff

A historically significant moment there.

Heh, that’s really the problem. And to Elon/X’s credit? They’ve been *trying* to solve for that... to limited/no success.

Everybody still reports “visits”, but nobody worth their digital salt leans on it anymore. Even the other metrics - DAU, etc - are fast becoming obsolete (if they weren’t years ago).

Even the pikers and scammers don’t even need to buy “clickfarm” time anymore. I’m technically ancient nowadays- fortunately, no longer working at a level where that matters, but I recently spun up a “metric breaker” to prove out I could I juice common metrics with a pretty simple (and even cheaper!) AI-based orchestration to prove a point.

Solve for the bots? You’ll crash your numbers.

Fortunately, I don’t play in social media... but it’s got a sisyphean task. Solve for the bots? And that’s actually doable - but you’ll crash your metrics.

Glad I’m nearing 60, not 30.

Try figuring out what happens if each of those 441 million unique visitors went to X 23 times in Q1. You can do it.

Actually one learns a lot on X.
Elon alone posts so much on physics and advanced space/rocket technology.
Andreeson makes great posts often.
Even Bezos does.

This royally riles the powers that be.

DemocRATs/DemoKKKrats/Euroweenies/WEF/UN/ETC

The enemies of basic human rights and free speech. Musk will not censor X for the above totalitarians. They all have their “correct” facts. Anyone challenging the Global Deep State must be silenced and punished.

Hey, I’m a user.

I’m also - from a business perspective - an Elon fan. Professionally, I’ll lap up every tidbit a billionaire shares.

But only a fool trusts it as a sole source or otherwise thinks you’re getting a “secret”.

Got news for you on “secrets”. They aren’t shared publicly.

I don’t care about “secrets”.
Just plain informative discussions about advanced rocket science, space, physics etc.

I remember when Musk bought Twitter and cleaned house. Advertisers fled and the media forecasted its downfall. Competitors (Threads, BlueSky) sprang up, hoping to capitalize on Twitter’s demise. Well, the advertisers returned, the competitors are failing and X is flourishing.

Sure. And as a pure user, same here.

Me? I’m a sucker for the rescue dog tweets. The algy knows me well - and serves up a lot of them! I got my latest buddy - to keep a prior buddy company - via an X post. My annoyance with X on that front was that I *also* had to weed through (far too much) engagement bot garbage... but whatever. Free for me to use and I’m a believer in personal responsibility.

I’m grateful for Elon for spending the money to keep it open, despite the annoyances.

I’m just saying - he could take it back public tomorrow and there is ZERO chance I’d be investing... Now, the shortly coming SpaceX IPO? Well, I never buy into IPOs at launch... but I’ll track and look at their filings - it will certainly go onto my launch list.

Yup.
Betting against Musk in business is not too wise.
