Careful with that.

I’ve lost a lot of friends by pointing this out. I say “this isn’t capitalism anymore”. It’s just gouging.

And further in my own statement is that the “boss class” is shamelessly fleecing the working class.

And from there my friends look at me like I sprouted a bushy moustache.

Delivering for the gigs during COVID I saw every single business buying personal luxury goods while telling their existing employees they needed to tighten their belt. I hear the media about how employees are quiet quitting and the like ... I get it.

Apparently... There have only been two times historically where the gap between the super wealthy and the poor was small enough to create a sustainable ‘middleclass’... The first time was the period just after the plague... The second time was after world war 2.

The days of a middleclass existence created by that extra wealth created during and after World War 2 are coming to an end.

In the not too distant future we will return to a more normalized economy like that of the 19th century... No middleclass. Rich man, poor man... no in-between man.
