Our Winn Dixie chain does a “quick sale” promotion for soon to be expired meat and poultry. Sam's Club used to mark down meats that were on day of expiration. They stopped that and now just remove it and throw it out. We quit Sam's club and shop local now.

I see the Publix butchers pulling meat and poultry out of the meat case, onto a rack and head to the back of the store all the time.....what a terrible waste. SMH

Well, if that meat was kept a short while & got food poisoning.....that is no fun, it makes you really sick & maybe the seller should be open to lawsuit for a dumb stunt like “date of sale expired product”.
