What the boy did was cruel and stupid, but he should not become now known as ‘A Felon’ for something like this.

He should get a fine and a few months of community service at a Zoo. If, that is, they wanted to know my opinion.
He will be charged as a juvenile which is not a matter of public record. And he will probably be given some type of diversion program which results in the charges being dismissed.
