I look at what my ancestors experienced from the 1860s to the 1960s...wow. And the 1960s to today is just as much WOW.
What makes you think we are NOT making progress and not making progress fast enough? You just cannot escape orbital mechanics and go straight-line to the moon. The world does not work that way.

we stood on the shoulders of men like von Braun. Geniuses. yes we have iPhones and they can transmit porn very fast with great resolution. We have very powerful weapons. Our fighter aircraft can go very fast. They zip around all over the place. But even someone who’s considered to be very industrious like Elon Musk he’s still making rockets. We are still strapping people into giant firecrackers. What I’m saying is we have a technology to do much more, but try and get a nuclear rocket into space. All of the green haired lesbians would shriek.

oh at the very least. Have a Starbucks onboard. Fully staffed. The Egyptians spent 100 years building a single pyramid. They basically moved their entire civilization to achieve a project. They were single minded and hideously, intelligent. We should be doing that to get out into space, not farting around on little fireworks strapping a chair with some duct tape onto a firework and shooting yourself off and I hope you make it. With rocket technology sure you can make it to the moon. Can you make it to Mars who knows. So many problems in between. But to get out to the juicy things other habitable worlds, which certainly do exist you need to think bigger. And you can’t use 1960s crap.
Going faster makes the trip take longer. If spaceships only had brakes installed we wouldn’t have to fly the S-curves.

that would certainly help with the acceleration and deacceleration
it’s hard to be patient when the national IQ is dropping like a rock. And we all know why that is. Soon we aren’t gonna have to worry about this and you know what everybody’s right! We don’t have to worry about bending space or going to other planets, we don’t have to worry about that anymore. The time to pull the trigger is now by the way.

they usually come back with huge gaps in their vertebrae so I don’t think puckering is really gonna be that bad especially if you’re gonna do something great like go to another star. besides, you wouldn’t have to use the liquid for the entire mission, just at the beginning and in the end.

Dampening the crew space would definitely help
Right now we use the force of repulsion to fly through space. It is limited to the fuel one can carry.
What we need to do is learn how to use the force of attraction. Then your power comes from all the matter in the Universe. Think of how the warm and cold air currents meeting create a force we call a tornado. The air currents carry no propulsion system yet they achieve speeds in the 100’s of mph.
