My understanding is that “establishment of a trusted, centralized legal system that offers security, fairness, and a legitimate means of dispute resolution” eliminates the perceived necessity of blood feud which came to be, in short, a “messy” way to handle disputes. I recently read somewhere that the criminal justice system protects the criminal from the victim more than it protects people from the criminal.
Any guesses as to what will eventually happen if the legal system loses trust?
