GOP rails against 's--- sandwich' deal as all eyes turn to House to end DHS shutdown

The House is primed to end the record-breaking Homeland Security shutdown, but Republicans are still fuming over a "s--- sandwich" deal from the Senate.

The Senate again advanced its partial Department of Homeland Security (DHS) funding bill on Thursday after being derailed by a House GOP rebellion. The frustration among House Republicans hasn’t gone anywhere, however, with lawmakers railing against House Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., during a members-only call on Thursday afternoon.

The simmering anger comes after Johnson made a swift reversal, spurred by President Donald Trump, and backed Senate Majority Leader John Thune’s, R-S.D., on a two-track approach Wednesday that would pass the Senate’s partial DHS bill while funding Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and Customs and Border Protection (CBP) in a forthcoming party-line reconciliation package.

A senior GOP aide told Fox News Digital that House Republicans wanted to see action from their Senate counterparts on reconciliation and were frustrated with how the upper chamber handled the DHS deal, which the source said amounted to a "s--- sandwich."

House Speaker Mike Johnson and Senate Majority Leader John Thune endorsed a two-track approach to end the shutdown on Wednesday, but Johnson is facing criticism from his conference over his previous rejection of the plan. (Getty Images)

Does anyone thing that Johnson so much as goes to the bathroom without White House approval? The anger at him is misplaced.

The on-again, off-again, on-again pirouette was entirely President Trump's doing.

No it is that PO$ Thune that is driving this. He is McConnells little cuck and he cannot get anything done in the Senate, without McConnell ‘s Chief of Staffs approval. McConnell is busy playing in the play grounds in his mind.

It is a constant battle to get anything done in the Senate. Thune hates MAGA and is blocking Trump’s agenda. Thune does not care if he loses the Senate and House in November if it means the end of MAGA and conservatives fall back in line with the GOPe.

And you guys still “trust the plan” don’t you?

We have been abandoned.

We get NOTHING.

Big tech, Israel, the Defense industry, big Ag...they get anything they want.

Laws taking away local rights to regulate billion dollar data centers, wars, weapons, amnesty for illegal workers, etc....

We get nothing. No mass deportations. No wall. No arrests for COVID crimes. No draining of the swamp. No arrests for political prosecutions. Nothing.

We need a Con-Con to set term limits for Congre$$ and establish what powers Congress and judges in the Judicial Branch have over the Executive Branch:
“In addition to constitutional amendments proposed by Congress, states have the option of petitioning Congress to call a constitutional convention”

He alone will be responsible for the total destruction of America.

Regardless of some’s optimism, Thune is missing off Republican voters who will stay home in November. He will cause the loss of Congress and 2 years of hell fir Trump and us.

He doesn’t care. He wants archaic Senate “rules” over reality.

80% of ALL voters want voters ID. But he and the usual Rinos don’t.

What does Trump have to do to get the US out from under the Refugee Convention?

Send (or hand deliver) the Secretary-General of the United Nations a letter!

****

Dear Secretary-General of the United Nations:

I, Donald J. Trump, the President of the United States, on behalf of the United States, do denounce the 1951 Convention Relating to the Status of Refugees and its 1967 Protocol, as permitted by Article 44.

Donald J. Trump

Exactly how would you get those things passed in a Con-Con?

You do realize that every blue state would have a delegation adamantly opposed to everything except the abolition of the 2nd Amendment?

Precisely why, in Nov 2024, it was predicted here that the GOP Senate would do its utmost to stab Trump in the back and derail most of his plans...

After all, their hands are still bloody from Trump's first term...
McConnell and assholes like Thune, Rand, etc, were just waiting for the opportunity to do it again...

Hmm.

I guess we could put that comment in It's All Trump's Fault column.

Now where have we heard that before?

I’m actually doing pretty good personally.my kids are doing great I have a huge extended family who I see all the time. I have a good job and a nice retirement fund saved up. A bunch of acres. I rarely ever have to be around “urban” people.

I don’t have much to complain about personally .

I hate to see my country destroyed.

And I am embarrassed that I was ever stupid enough to think Trump gave one $h1t about it.

We tried to defund Bidens illegal invasion- couldn’t do it
We tried to defund the department of education - we couldn’t
We tried to reform the welfare state. - we couldn’t
We tried to fix the healthcare system - we couldn’t
We tried to build a wall - we couldn’t
We tried to fix CIA and FBI corruption- we couldn’t
We tried to get justice for the COVID crimes - we couldn’t

But the Democrats without a majority in either house or controls the White House just defunded ICE and border patrol.

We have been abandoned.

We have been abandoned.

I can imagine that when you have these feelings and emotions of abandonment it can seem quite dramatic and scary. Have you considered counseling?

It’s utterly irrelevant to anyone but yourself which column you choose to use.

Answer me this: When Johnson initially shot down the deal last week (”This gambit that was done last night is a joke”), did he do that contrary to President Trump’s wishes?

And did he greenlight the very same deal this week without President Trump’s blessings?

(Spoiler: the answers are No and Yes.)

Like I said, I am personally doing fine. I have everything I need.

It is my country that I am worried about. We have “plan trusters” on this forum who stick their heads in the sand while the guy they thought would help them sells out the country.

Then when someone points it out, they are labeled as weak or whining.

But, I wish you nothing but the best.

I hope the decedents of the dark skinned invaders treat your granddaughters nicely and I hope your grandsons aren’t shipped off to die for Israel.

Gee, let me consider that. How about an amendment that sets term limits of Congre$$? How about one that defines the authority that district judges have issuing national injunctions?
