Why do you think Biden’s Girls put Rahm Emanual there. The problem with Japan was that US conservatives were able to see just how CIVIL a country can behave, with virtually no crime and schools that actually teach kids something...that had to be ended for the Democrats to remain in power.
By the way, it was EXACTLY the same problem that the Soviet Union had during the Cold War - as Europeans and even Soviets saw stores loaded with food in the West, they got very, very, restless.
