I have no confidence the American people will be disappointed. Birthright citizenship has gotten more acceptable rather than less.
I'll definitely be disappointed. My father came here legally from Holland as a boy of 8 in 1913, with his two brothers and their parents. My grandmother died before 1920, when the rest of the family was naturalized. People don't understand how long people had to wait back then to gain American citizenship. Even today, it's not an overnight process. There's no pride in becoming a citizen of this country anymore since they hand it out like candy these days. I'm just glad I'm on the tail-end of my life and won't see this country turned into a third-world shit hole.
Abortion has gotten more acceptable rather than less.
Illegal immigration has gotten more acceptable rather than less.
Atheism has gotten more acceptable rather than less.
Tribalism has gotten more acceptable rather than less.
Stupidity has gotten more acceptable rather than less.
