The thing about world religions is that they are either all right, or they are all wrong.
Still , we argue about the behavior and spirit/soul/mind of an entity that we really cannot comprehend.
There is nothing wrong with each of us having our own relationship with God. It can be no other way because we are all different.
We have free will to choose. To choose between good and evil. Therein lies the problem. Given a choice, we tend to make stupid decisions. Without that choice, we could not create. Sooooo... religion is a structure for helping oneself make good choices.
And we need lots of help.
