I suppose consumption might depend on a variety of factors, including how much time one has available, whether or not one has quenched one’s thirst otherwise, and perhaps the cost if eating out, among other variables.
Mostly when I see people drinking wine, beer, or liquor it’s a social gathering, so that may impact how much someone drinks as well.
I have a single glass of wine a couple nites a week in the evening before dinner at home, and that is usually only when I drink wine.
Ordering drinks at bars or restaurants is pricey enough so, when that is the venue I usually figure why pay too much for wine or beer, might as well have a hard liquor drink - whiskey sour.
