Overconfidence despite clear incompetence was evident in both Obama and Mamdani.
There is a cognitive bias called the Dunning–Kruger effect, which -- in my opinion -- would be better called the Obama-Mamdani effect today. Dunning-Kruger describes a delusional mindset where “People with low knowledge or skill in an area tend to overestimate how competent they are.” In biblical terms, this kind of hubris is defined by Paul in Romans 12:3 as one “...think[ing] more highly of oneself than one ought.” That Scripture verse captures the essence of two popular, similar politicians who, despite having little knowledge or skill, have convinced many Americans of an expertise that simply doesn’t exist.
The Dunning-Kruger effect is a significant issue in politics and governance. When leading people, a lack of self-awareness about personal experience or expertise, combined with excessive charm, can harm large groups of innocent citizens, leaving them vulnerable to those with delusional self-perceptions who wield more power than they can manage.
Those who enforce the delusion of Dunning-Kruger on others are often people who perform poorly but lack the self-awareness to see that their confidence is unfounded. For some of us, that kind of overconfidence despite clear incompetence was evident in both Obama and Mamdani.
Judging by the arrogance assessment, Zohran and Barack are men cut from the same egotistical cloth. Why? Both clearly overestimate how past experience of stirring up trouble for poor people translates into the ability to manage complex government systems. Barack Hussein Obama and Zohran Kwame Mamdani’s deception about their own abilities is so deep and wide that each ran for and won political offices they weren't truly qualified for. In fact, these guys are so similar that it takes only 1 hour and 30 minutes to fly from Barack’s “home country in Kenya" to Zohran’s birthplace

For a recent example from last week I’ll nominate Hochul last week Folsom ing that “our generous social programs” need “patriotic millionaires” to return to New York to pay their high taxes
Rush used to call this “a dangerous combination of arrogance and ignorance.”
Well, that clearly applied to Obama, Biden, and Harris!

I think it’s the fools voting for these frauds who are affected by Dunning Krueger..
If stupid voters knew they were too stupid to vote, we’d be in far better shape.
Are we allowed to say that Trump was dealing with some of this, especially in 2016? He didn’t know what he didn’t know.
The ones ahead of him are Lincoln, Washington, FDR, Teddy Roosevelt, Eisenhower, Truman, Jefferson, JFK (!) and Reagan.
They put Trump at #41 which tells you all you need to know about the political leanings of those polled.
Constitutional Limits (Depoliticization): This involves removing entire areas of human action from the domain of political decision-making via strong, enforceable constitutional rules. If, for example, the government is constitutionally forbidden from intervening in monetary policy or setting prices, then the competence of politicians on these matters becomes irrelevant because they lack the means to act in those areas. The problem of electing an incompetent economic planner is "solved" by not having a central economic planner. The political conflict then shifts to the appointment of judges and the interpretation of the constitution itself, but the scope of day-to-day political power is reduced.

The chart is wrong in that it assumes that peak stupidity will ever be reached and also wrong in that the individual will ever be enlightened.
Those who epitomize the Dunning-Kruger Effect never lose confidence in their own ignorance.
There’s a lot of things of which “they don’t know and they don’t know that they don’t know”. - RIP Mark Scott
Most people who cite the Dunning-Kruger Effect have no idea of how ironic they are.
Just call themselves “Democrats,” and the people will be fooled. Once self-anointed, they will march down the streets bursting with pride — chanting the most insane absurdities — as though they were the keepers of ancient and future wisdom. They will even come to prefer the righteousness of Barabbas over Jesus and think men can become pregnant — because they say so.
For a while, I had a manager at work who I literally called “Dunning-Kruger Girl.”
