Hakeem has an uncle who is a college professor and wada bigwig in the Pan-African movement of the 60’s and 70’s. Lotsa Black kids got “ethnic” names back then showing their pride in their culture. Although in reality “Hakim” is an Arab name and the Arabs were famous as African slavers. So it’s kinda like an Irish family giving their kid the first name of “Cromwell”.
