Whoops: Schumer Slips on ICE - Makes Hilarious Mistake While Railing About It

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) isn't in a good place right now.

He's ticked off the people in his party on the left who believe he has been ineffective and should retire. They likely will try to primary him, but that isn't coming until 2028. Meanwhile, they're fuming at him, and even if he wins, they may not re-elect him as leader.

On the other hand, he appears to be trying to appease the left by pulling bad moves like blocking funding for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) right as we are in the middle of a battle with Iran, when there have been multiple terrorist attacks. The funding shutdown has also caused hundreds of Transportation Security Administration (TSA) agents to quit, which has led to long lines and hours of waiting at some of the airports. President Donald Trump has now moved to deploy ICE to help out at the airports to relieve the pressure. Border Czar Tom Homan indicated that help was on the way.

The problems are all on the Democrats for placing their political agenda and illegal aliens before the safety of the American people. It shows where their focus truly is. They want to blame it on the Republicans, but it's the Democrats who aren't willing to fund all of DHS.

Schumer knows he's in an untenable box, and I think he's starting to feel it. He's trying to argue to split off bills for funding for the TSA, but that still doesn't deal with all the other important agencies, even if they were to leave out ICE. Then, Elon Musk offered to pay for the TSA agents, so perhaps that threw Schumer off as well, if he is not able to use the TSA as a hostage for the Democratic agenda. Then, too, Trump is sending ICE in to help solve the long lines in the airports, so that issue may go away, too.

Chuck Schumer showed the pressure during a truly funny moment on the floor when he was trying to make his argument, but messed it up, and actually said they needed to "fund ICE."

"We must fund ICE..." Schumer said before he stopped himself. "We must fund TSA right now!” That's hilarious.

Okay, Chuck, we agree, fund ICE. And it looks like President Donald Trump agrees as well.

There's only one way out of this — that's to fund all the DHS. So whether Schumer caves now or later, he's still going to have to cave, just like he has in the past. And it won't matter — whatever he does, he's not going to convince the left to vote for him, no matter what. They've already passed him by.

He should have some humility and just retire. But he should do the right thing here for the American people and fund DHS first.

Hopefully ICE can still do ICE duties while helping TSA.

RE: Trump should get a trophy for crushing Chuckles.

Yes.

Chuck is ready for his role now in rebooting the Mary Tyler Moore show episode....

Chuckles Bites the Dust” (Season 6, Episode 7), which aired on October 25, 1975.

While serving as the Grand Marshall of a circus parade, Chuckles was dressed as one of his characters, “Peter Peanut” a “rogue” circus elephant mistook him for a giant peanut and tried to “shell” him, resulting in fatal injuries.

The newsroom staff makes light of the bizarre death, with Murray Slaughter famously joking, “You know how hard it is to stop after just one peanut!”.

The Funeral: Mary Richards, who was appalled by her colleagues’ jokes, finds herself unable to control her own laughter during the solemn funeral service.
Chuckles’ signature catchphrase was: “A little song, a little dance, a little seltzer down your pants”.

“Chuckles Bites the Dust” is widely regarded as one of the best episodes in television history.

I have many times. The architect, who devised these up one floor down another then up another etc needs a singapore style caning. I actually have a trip scheduled into IAD sometime in the next few months in spite of that problem. I’ll return out of DCA though.
