What changed? The Iranian revolution installed a radical Islamist regime that influenced the entire Muslim world. The conflict between Islam and everyone else has been going on for more than a thousand years. Islamism was largely crushed before Jimmy Carter helped to rekindle the flame. Islamism must be crushed again.
Islam should be reformed to assure freedom of conscience. People should be allowed to choose their faith. Islam should be reformed to give women basic rights to include safety from honor killing. Start with the western nations. Pressure Muslim nations.
It’s been said that Islam reformed is Islam destroyed. Let’s put that to the test.
Then let them choose their own dictator, king, potentate, etc. and be done with it.
There isn’t a person alive anywhere that likes to be told what to do.

I respectfully disagree with that idea.
The regular Army is not as radicalized as the IRGC. The Basij and IRGC are being targeted, and weakened. It would be a win if we could get an Egypt liek outcome with an el-Sisi type from the Army taking over and run the country.
Free is not an absolute term. We are never free. We are beings confined to the natural world. We need to eat and sleep and breath every day. And so we endeavor to do those things. Giving up our time or trading our possessions or freedoms to get those things is commonplace. Then there are other people. We ban together for safety and to create situations where food and shelter and clothing is more readily available. And then our families have to deal with might makes right. So we must deal with the governments that are strong. Because those governments will win a fight. And we don’t have a choice if one strong government is in place. Its might makes right that is the law of the land. Not freedom. Freedom is not a thing in the animal kingdom. Its hierarchy of needs. The strongest among us are still subject to those two laws.
People born into slavery become very adept at being a slave. They work the system. People in jail soon learn how to work that system. People in harsh dictatorships learn that system. They do not learn Freedom. They do not learn campaigning and free speech and agree to disagree. Those are advanced topics. And take generations to be adapted.
New York City-ers didn’t want to be free, and they deserve it.
Tell the ‘they don’t want to be free’ to the tens of thousands of people in Iran who have died seeking freedom. What a bunch of ignorant nonsenst.
