Gremlins weren’t wonderful cars. But they were a very good try to offer Americans a small economical Volkswagen type car built in USA.
I always thought that losing AMC (and yes, Kaiser frazer and studebaker etc) were tremendous losses for America even tho I never owned any of them)
Bring reduced to just two American companies— who use many many imported parts —- is not good for our economy, our defense caps it, our workforce, not good
