Donald Trump has suggested his war with Iran could soon come to an end just hours after completing a mysterious phone call with Vladimir Putin.
Trump told reporters US forces are 'very far ahead of schedule', claiming Iran's military has effectively been destroyed.
'I think the war is very complete, pretty much,' Trump told CBS News. 'They have no navy, no communications, they've got no Air Force ... Wrapping up is all in my mind.'
Trump's remarks came after Putin shared a proposal to quickly end the war during the call, according to the Kremlin. The two leaders also discussed the current war in Ukraine as well as the oil market in Venezuela.
The stock market clawed back from a brutal session after Trump's remarks, with US oil plunging to $86 per barrel from $91 after he floated a takeover of the Strait of Hormuz.
The Dow closed up 200 points after dropping nearly 900 points at its session low, while the S&P jumped 0.8 percent and the Nasdaq rebounded to 1.4 percent after crashing by as much as 1.5 percent.
Trump also claimed Iran's missile and drone capabilities had been neutralized by US strikes. Iran launched retaliatory attacks on US bases and other Gulf nations after the death of its supreme leader, killing seven American troops.
'Their missiles are down to a scatter. Their drones are being blown up all over the place, including their manufacturing of drones,' Trump added.

If Israel wants Iran taken out they will have to do the job themselves. I don't want a fight with Russia.
NO its not ending, you should see what is going on right now in Iran, the US and Israel are bombarding Iran right now, might be their biggest strike yet not sure what they are hitting. Also in Israel most people believe the war will go on for another 2 weeks

Trump went in to destroy their capabilities to nuke us. It seems he has accomplished that twice now.
This is my preference actually — break stuff and get out. This country has a short attention span.
My guess is that Putin will give up Iran in exchange for a part of the Ukraine that Russia already holds.
It is not truly in Russian interests to have a nuclear-armed Iran. And a Russian "victory" in Ukraine has already cost Russia more that it is worth. I suspect a deal is on offer.

That seemed like an obvious deal to me a while back. Now, I’m not sure Russia has any cards. Still, it could bring an end to two hot spots.
Russia doesn’t need oil from Venezuela but he does need a good peace agreement in the Ukraine. Not to mention Russia is likely to be able to obtain more lucrative business deals with a free Iran.

Lindsey is to be discounted as his political persona is to drop bombs. Levin and Shapiro are to be discounted also. Anyone who wants to cancel other conservatives I’ll take with a bowl of salt.
Netanyahu had to put up with the Mullahs, including our very own Barack Hussein Obama. I don’t care what he does, but he’s definitely on the better side.
We should take enough of their oil to refill our SPR and pay our selves
back for the cost of the wars.
