Police in Cleveland, Ohio, are asking the public for tips after two young Black girls were found dead inside separate suitcases buried in shallow graves on Monday.
Cleveland Police Chief Dorothy Todd said during a news conference that the girls, believed to be between the ages of 8 and 13 and 10 and 14, were found Monday evening.
The discovery was made Monday evening after a man walking his dog near East 162nd Street and Midland Avenue, in a field near Ginn Academy, found a partially buried suitcase and called police.
Police responded and located a shallow grave and found a deceased individual in a suitcase. After canvassing the area, police found a second shallow grave and another suitcase containing a second individual.

When I saw the location, I had to look at a map. I didn’t realize Cleveland went that far to the east. I would have guessed East Cleveland from that high of a street number.
The University Circle/Cleveland Clinic area should be OK during daylight hours. Haven't been recently, adjacent to that Little Italy used to be safe if you were white, with police adding additional security in that neighborhood.
Decades ago, I grew up in that area. I know those streets. There were lawyers, Corp presidents, engineers and priests that came from that neighborhood. I will probably go to Saint Mary’s for their fish fry. How sad for those two girls. They did not deserve that fate.
Prayers God has these girls in his arms and they will know joy forever.
My brain doesn’t want to anccept all the ways of evil in this world.
I worked at a scrapyard right across Saranac from that school back in the ‘70s. It was a working class neighborhood. Collinwood sure has changed. Looks like the largest demographic flipped since then.
