No, the Fed killed the Dollar. Before that l, there would be a panic about every 20 years, and then things would reset themselves. Inflation was low. The dollar was completely backed by Gold. Then the Fed came and destroyed the currency.

No, the dollar was rarely all gold backed. There was always a tendency to inflate, print. Consider the first Bank of America, the second Bank of America. Greenbacks. Jackson briefly had a pm-based system between national banks.

In fact, the revolutionary war was really about not using the king’s paper. Not about a few cents tax on tea.
