Leader of Christian Israelis Denounces Tucker Carlson: The only place Christians in the Middle East are thriving is guess where?

Tucker Carlson’s recent visit to Ben Gurion Airport, which Carlson billed as his “fact-finding” trip to Israel, has provoked a storm of criticism. He met with American ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee, insisting that Israel mistreated Christians, and refused to listen to Huckabee’s rebuttal.

Now one of the leaders of Christians in Israel, Shadi Khalloul, has also taken Carlson to task. More on his response to Carlson can be found here: “Israeli Christian Leader: Tucker Carlson ‘Doesn’t Want the Truth,’ Endangers Christians Elsewhere by Lying About Israel,” by Debbie Weiss, Algemeiner, February 19, 2026:

Firebrand podcaster Tucker Carlson drew a barrage of heat from Israelis after claiming he was “detained and interrogated” during a brief stop at Ben Gurion Airport on Wednesday, with former Prime Minister Naftali Bennett calling him “a chickens**t” and “a phony” and an Israeli Christian leader describing him as “an enemy of Israel” for lying about the country’s treatment of Christians.

Shadi Khalloul, founder of the Israeli Christian Aramaic Association and a former Knesset candidate, accused the former Fox News host-turned-far-right conspiracy theorist of “destroying Christian-Jewish relations” all over the world and “endangering the persecuted Christian community in the Middle East” by portraying Israel as hostile to Christianity…

The US tax-financed Israeli IDF forces bombed the Holy Family Catholic Church in Gaza City on July 17, 2025, killing three people and injuring 10 others, including a parish priest.

Israel predictably expressed regret (as visions of US tax dollars danced in their head).

Israel expected Christians to believe a tank shell hit the compound “mistakenly” during military operations in the vicinity.

Hundreds of Catholic Palestinians were sheltering in the church at the time believing they might be safe from the US-provided bombs.

Key Details of the July 2025 Incident:
Location: The Holy Family Church, the only Catholic church in the Gaza Strip.
Casualties: Three people were killed and ten were wounded, including the parish priest, Father Gabriel Romanelli.
Damage: The church compound was seriously damaged.

The Israeli Response to targeting and bombing a Catholic church was predictable.

The US tax dollar-financed Israel Defense Forces (IDF) stated that initial inquiries suggested “fragments from a shell fired during operational activity” hit the church, calling it a “mistake.”

International Reaction: The incident was condemned by church leaders, with Pope Leo XIV calling for an immediate ceasefire.

This incident followed previous reports of damage to other Christian sites in Gaza, including the Christian Orthodox Church of Saint Porphyrius, exposing Israel’s long-held government plans to rid the area of Christians to allow Jews to take the land.

Approximately 180,000–188,000 Christians live in Israel, about 1.9% of the population as of late 2025.

Most (roughly 75-80%) are Arab Christians living primarily in Nazareth and Haifa, with others coming from diverse backgrounds including Russian-speaking Christian immigrants.

Key details about Christians in Israel:

The largest communities are in Nazareth (~21,000), Haifa (~17,000), and Jerusalem (~13,000) and Catholics in Gaza.

While Christians are permitted freedom of worship, reports indicate a rise in Israeli harassment incidents targeting Christians and clergy. Israeli settlers in particular virulently want Christians out of Israeli land so they can settle the area exclusively for Jews.

The Christian community was there, before Jews came and took over. Christianity is diverse, including Eastern Orthodox, Catholic, and various Protestant denominations.

Saddam’s Foreign Minister was a Christian. Assad protected Christians in Syria. Too bad about American foreign policy.

The majority (roughly 75-77%) of Christians in Israel are Arab, with major centers in Nazareth and Jerusalem where Jesus Christ walked.

Freedom of Christian Worship is allowed since Israel is dependent on US tax dollars provided by Christian taxpayers.

Challenges are many: some church leaders have expressed concern regarding actions by extremist Israeli groups. Land-grabbing settlers in particular want Christians out of Israel to take the land for themselves and other Jews.

The Palestinians (including Palestinian Christians) are not Arabs. True, they are often called Arabs because they speak Arabic (an artifact of being conquered by Arabic speaking Muslims). But they, like the Jews, are actually a Levantine people descended from Hebrews, Samaritans, etc. The genetics don’t lie (and please note the article at the first link was written by an Israeli Jew):

https://blogs.timesofisrael.com/dammi-israeli-the-genetic-origins-of-the-palestinians/

https://www.induslens.com/articles/dna-reveals-shared-roots-of-israelis-palestinians

People confuse ethnicity/bloodlines with the various empires that have ruled over them. See:

https://freerepublic.com/focus/news/4317030/posts?page=104#104

You can find reports of Israeli settler attacks on Christians if you look:

https://www.vaticannews.va/en/world/news/2025-07/israel-west-bank-jewish-settlers-christians-palestinians-war.html

Just do an internet search on “Christians west bank” (without the quotation marks).

I know Tucker is hated here by the Israel Firsters, but his interview of a Baptist pastor from the West Bank is quite good and I highly recommend it. This man is a sincere Christian and inspiring. He’s worth listening to, whatever you may think of Tucker:

“Carlson is doing an effective job of making conservatives look like fringe crackpots. Thanks a lot.”

Nonsense.

Carlson has never been appointed the embodiment, the face, the representative, the quintessence, of conservatism. He is just one of many.

No, they’re not “thriving” in Israel.

“One of the biggest challenges facing churches in Israel and Palestine is to persuade Christian families to stay. In 1948 Christians made up around 10% of the population, compared to around 2% today. In Gaza more than half the Christian population is estimated to have left over the past decade, while the human cost of conflict since 7 October 2023 continues to unfold, amid catastrophic humanitarian conditions and the displacement of around 90% of the population.

The main drivers of emigration include limited economic opportunities and the ongoing Israeli occupation. Like their fellow Muslim Palestinians, Christians in the West Bank face restrictions on their movements, military check points, Settler expansion and attacks and military raids. Access to water, electricity, and healthcare is limited, and the use of child detention and forced displacement represents a denial human dignity.”

Too many people here wanted Tucker as Trump’s VP. Candace Owens came in 2nd. I even had some of those thoughts.

They need a track record one can research. Too many soft Manchurians out there.

Re: "Three people were killed and ten were wounded."

Re: "Hundreds sheltering..."

Maybe 1% dead and 3% wounded - in a war zone?

And, Israel was deliberately trying to kill Christian civilians?

That is a pitiful lie.

By the way, the USA provides Europe, Japan, and South Korea, with massively more peace time military aid than it gives to Israel in war time aid.

Due to innovative technology and frequent combat experience, Israel’s military and defense industry are valued partners for America’s military and defense companies. US intelligence also benefits from their cooperative relationship with Israel’s intelligence services. And, as it happens, the US also provides substantial military and economic aid to Jordan and Egypt.

I am so sick of the Jew hate. They have by far the most civilized country, if not the only civilized country, in the Middle East. I agree, Tucker Carlson gives conservatives a bad name. He should just stick to UFOs.

HAMAS uses hospitals, schools, and Churches to hide militants and as firing positions. You seem to be pro-terrorist Liz. Why don’t you fight with HAMAS?

Oh Bullshiite. Have you been to Israel? Worshipped in their thriving and growing churches? I have. Christianity grows by the day in Israel.

Let’s look at Gaza. When Israel controlled it the Christian population thrived and was around 5000 people. In 2005 it was handed over to Islamists. The population is now 800 due to Islamic persecution, murder, rape, dhimmi status, etc.

You know nothing except posting bs posts from aggrieved Islamic sympathizers like George Stephanopolis’ ugly sister

“The US tax-financed Israeli IDF forces bombed the Holy Family Catholic Church in Gaza City on July 17, 202...”

Lie. Lie because THERE WAS A WAR GOING ON, STARTED BY GAZA. The number of innocent civilians killed by Israel in Gaza is small compared to the number of civilians killed by the USA in fighting in Iraq, Afghanistan, Vietnam, etc.

Civilians often die in a war. In fact, it happens in EVERY WAR.

Further, any “Christian” church in Gaza isn’t proclaiming Jesus as Lord! If they did, Gazans would tear them limb from limb and parade their bodies in the streets. They are permitted to live only if they are useful idiots (and reprobates) supporting their Hamas masters!
