Any official that uses their office for this kind of misconduct should be held personally responsible for the outcome when it goes sideways. The law signed in July did not go far enough and should have had a “you will be personally liable for any monetary damages” clause. But at the end of the day, politicians protect politicians, regardless of what side they’re on. That has to change
