Sara Polston, the wife of a prominent Norman lawyer, was driving 66 miles per hour in a 25 miles per hour zone and ran several red lights in February 2023, with a blood alcohol level nearly twice the legal limit, when she crashed into the car of 20-year-old Micaela Borrego. Polston was on her her way to pick up her kids from school. Borrego suffered a traumatic brain injury, was in a coma, and had to learn how to eat, speak, and walk again. She is still recovering.
