Here’s what i don’t know or understand- couldn’t she try it again in her program?? Or does she lay out the program to judges beforehand and its one and done per attempts?

One complaint against modern figure skating is that it too heavily weighted on what amounts to gymnastics, albeit done artistically. The term "figure" in figure skating refers to a mastery of all the edges, including counters, turns, and brackets. The average viewer hardly notices them anymore, but they are there and the judges watch for them. If she tried to re-choreograph her routine on the fly, she would probably have to omit something else which would affect her score.
