Here’s what i don’t know or understand- couldn’t she try it again in her program?? Or does she lay out the program to judges beforehand and its one and done per attempts?

She could work it into what remains of her program, in theory, but at her level the programs are intensely choreographed so that each required step is included.

Not commonly understood these days is that jumps are not all a skater is judged on. Footwork is also included in the calculation of points. One complaint against modern figure skating is that it too heavily weighted on what amounts to gymnastics, albeit done artistically. The term "figure" in figure skating refers to a mastery of all the edges, including counters, turns, and brackets. The average viewer hardly notices them anymore, but they are there and the judges watch for them. If she tried to re-choreograph her routine on the fly, she would probably have to omit something else which would affect her score.
