maybe she killed herself and life insurance wouldn’t cover suicide so they had to manufacture another cause of death. Of course if the body never turns up they have to wait 7 yrs to collect (as I understand it). Or work hard to get her declared dead
Reminds me of a Law and Order episode The Taxman Cometh where family members sent their dying mothers and fathers to a clinic to keep them alive til 2010 due to a Bush cut loop hole that if they live til 2010 you wouldnt have to pay estate tax
