Mitch doesn’t know what year this is. You will have to call his caregiver.
“We’re now at 49!”
Is senator John Fetterman (D-PA) included in that number?
No but if either Fetterman or Collins vote yes, we can pass or JD Vance can break a tie.
Does the 48 include Vance’ vote or do we just need 50?
Kentucky will screw this up.
Nothing good has ever come from Kentucky.
Thanks.
Good luck but I just dont see it with the RINOS left. Might need to look to the Dem side.
I will be calling Senator Collins tomorrow!
Nothing good has ever come from Kentucky.
Especially the basketball team.
Ask her how much she needs for a Yes vote.
Ask her how much she needs for a Yes vote.
We know what she is, now we’re just haggling over price.
Awesome! I’m really hoping they get the votes. But I’m concerned that they’ll get 50 YES votes, but won’t demand a standing filibuster, so it’ll just sit there. “We did our best, but we don’t have 60 votes to get this passed”.
Also, let me ask this. What are the odds that as soon as this is signed, Judge Boarsberg (or whatever his name is) issues a ruling that this is illegal, and puts it on hold until after the midterms?
I was with a group of six Mainers who met with a Collins staff member in Portland to advocate for the SAVE Act. He advised us that Susan has always felt voter ID made sense.
She did not take a postion on the Voter ID ballot measure that failed in November due to the Secy of State purposely wording the question to obfusicate the question.
“I’m concerned that they’ll get 50 YES votes, but won’t demand a standing filibuster, so it’ll just sit there. “We did our best, but we don’t have 60 votes to get this passed”
You have good reason for concern. I am hopeful, but I know the Repukes often go the extra mile in order to lose (even when they go through the motions of pretending to try hard to win).
I won’t do that. But I will tell her as a life long Republican, chair of a College Republican club and delegate to two state conventions, that if she votes no, I will not vote for her and I will tell many others not to vote for her either.
He has said he supports the concept.
if the jerks can’t (or WON’T) pass voter ID,
we will need to retire them ASAP!! Like, yesterday!
some people dismiss the Congress as incompetent, useless
but that is not my view
I think they are very competent .. at retaining their grasp on power so that they can soak up millions and millions more “campaign contributions” and cash payments
