She has voted with the GOP many times.
Unlike Romney, Turtle, The Alaska Kow, Rand and Linda, she is from a pretty blue state.

The fact she said this says volumes that she sees the danger from Elon.

Since she faces a contested primary, you can call her office and tell her that if she votes against it you will contribute to her primary opponent, and then follow through and send her a copy of the receipt.

She has zero impact on this matter.

Nothing can happen without the filibuster avoidance maneuver and that is not going to happen regardless of her vote.

She is campaigning for re-election. She deserves no blame in this matter because her position was to have no influence on the entire matter.

Applaud her. No other Republican could hold that seat and regardless of all other votes, she will vote for a GOP Majority Leader, if she is elected and the GOP holds its majority.

In the unlikely event that it passes, is the SAVE Act as “permanent” as temporary tax increases and welfare programs have always been? Or will the Democrats repeal it the very next chance they get?

Not defending Collins’ typical RINO stance on pretty much all issues (she’s still better than Murkowski though), but Collins is really between a rock and a hard place on this one because it probably means her career.

Only a complete moron would think that some conservative could beat her in the primary and THEN actually win a general election. In Maine. LOL. She’s the best chance we’ve got in that state, and the only chance.

It’s one thing to root against RINO John Cornyn in Texas, because other viable options exist and Paxton or Hunt *can* win, even if Cornyn goes down in the primary. But guess what — Maine isn’t Texas.

Is it worth losing her Senate seat (Maine isn’t going to be the only one) and as a result possibly giving Democrats full control of the legislative branch in a few months? A knee-jerk answer is easy and obvious, but we’ll see how it shakes out.

Collins and Murkowski can ‘diva’ all they want, but the larger point remains: it’s all about the Senate filibuster rule. Until that changes, it’s all pointless.

It will change when the Dems are in the majority.

Of course she’s a hard NO..she depends on illegal aliens in her state to vote for her

Not really. Being a RINO doesn't get you love from people whose natural orbit is the Dems.It is just that there are too many lefties and squishes in Maine, despite its uber Republican past.

Exactly, she wants money and support for her reelection. The Save Act is so rudimentary it shouldn’t even be an issue.

Rep. Michael Cloud@RepMichaelCloud
For reference, this is how we vote in the US House:
1) Insert photo ID
2) Press button

Rep. Michael Cloud@RepMichaelCloud
Notable that 213 Democrats just used their congressional photo ID to vote NO on a voter ID bill.

It will change when the Dems are in the majority.
That's because the Democrats insist their members follow the party line.

The Republicans could care less as long as their checks clear.

Democrats want power.

Republicans want money.

Wash. Rinse. Repeat.

My suggestion:

There shall be a tax on each jurisdiction which has a person not having US citizenship on a voter register used for a federal election of $1,000 for each such alien.

There shall be a tax on each state which has an ineligible person on a voter register used for a federal election of held in the state of $50 for each such person.

A copy of the voting register and a time-based listing of changes to it within the timeframe of the election shall be furnished to the Commissioner of the Internal Revenue Service within the 30 days following the certification. Such additional information as may be necessary to accurately compute the tax shall be promptly furnished to the Commissioner.

A reward of 50% to the honest person or entity instrumental in uncovering the taxable registration. This reward shall not be subject to domestic governmental revenue imposition.

There shall be a tax on each jurisdiction participating a federal election in which lacks a voter register unless the jurisdiction has carefully verified voter eligibility using picture ID of a type suitable for TSA air travel security along with documentary evidence of US citizenship for each ballot cast in the election of $20 per ballot counted by or on behalf of the jurisdiction.

There shall be a tax on each jurisdiction participating a federal election in which for the jurisdiction the number of ballots finally counted in the election exceeds the number of voters in the election of $2,000 per excessive ballot. If the excess is in excess of five plus .5%, the election supervisor of the jurisdiction may be fined $50,000.

There shall be a tax on a ballot counted by a jurisdiction of $20 per ballot with respect to federal election unless the ballot was obtained and contemporaneously cast in person or if the ballot is for a person in federal military service. No fee or tax may be charged by a jurisdiction to obtain an absentee ballot by a person lawfully entitled to receive one.

Fighting in Congress to send middle-class income and property taxation cap constitutional amendments to the states would make Congress turn deep red come 2027.

“the Senate filibuster rule. Until that changes, it’s all pointless”

At this point, I suspect reform won’t clear the House because of closeted RINOs.

The chance to change things should have been utilized a year ago.

Retire if you can. Spend down your assets insomuch as possible.

Take it easy as possible if you can’t retire.

Make sure your young ones know a foreign language and have a skill another country will want.

One of the reasons was to try to get rid of her...but it didn’t work...the other (bigger) reason was to prevent someone like LePage from getting elected governor again on a plurality.
