“U.S. Olympic Skier, Hunter Hess, a real Loser, says he doesn’t represent his Country in the current Winter Olympics. If that’s the case, he shouldn’t have tried out for the Team, and it’s too bad he’s on it. Very hard to root for someone like this. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!” Trump wrote, posting on social media. However, unlike Hess and a few other American athletes, hockey stars Brady and Matthew Tkachuk had a different perspective on competing for Team USA.
“I mean, this is able to represent the U.S. at this stage in the Olympics is one of the greatest honors that I’ve ever had, so I’m truly grateful to be here representing the red, white, and blue,” said a proud Brady Tkachuk amidst Team USA men’s hockey’s practice session a few days prior to their first match against Latvia.

Yes
Are Brady and Matthew related to Walter Tkaczuk, the great NY Ranger center of the 70s?
Their old man Kieth was a piece of work when he played in the NHL. His boys aren’t far behind him. If you want to drop the gloves and go, either one will oblige you. Not related and the last names are spelled slightly different.
I may be in the minority on this, but I couldn’t care less about the political leanings of national team or big-name athletes at the Olympics, or anywhere else. I would expect them to have varying political preferences just like the population at large. I certainly don’t believe an athlete should have to share my politics to compete at the Olympics.
That would be bizarre, like East Germany or North Korea, where you had to toe the party line or else. We don’t want that in free countries.
I agree that Ann are entitled to their views. However, as ambassadors and f the country, any public statements should be made thoughtfully and with minimal civility and respect.
One of the most beautiful Medal Ceremonies to me was when USAF Captain Micki King was on the podium with grateful and proud tears in 1970 with her Gold Medal in diving
Their father is Keith Tkachuk who was a long-time player in the NHL. Last year when the NHL had the 4-nation tournament, at the Allstar Game, when the US and Canada played in the finals, 3 fights broke out in the first 9 seconds of the game, the first two fights involved Mathew and Brady Tkachuk, each fighting a player from Canada.
Hockey players keep it real
