Unless you have somebody stay in every house to verify that they can only watch one media, those are the only numbers we have. Prior to internet era, Nielsen installed some device in the TV itsef so they can record how long people in that household watch program A, B, and so on so we know whether people in that household really watched it or just channel shopping.
I suppose we can get the similar numbers from internet providers since technology-wise everything is recorded but I am not sure if they would release them.
If a Super Bowl Party with 50 people also loaded a live stream, how many “views” did that count as? Just 1.
If You Tube’s software is working as normal, “coming back” should only count as another view if you changed your IP address. I’ve tested that on low view “nearly dead” music videos and old news stories.
