DEERFIELD BEACH, Fla. (CBS12) — A South Florida woman was arrested Wednesday after allegedly funding a $1.2 million spree of private jets, mansions, and diamonds by swindling an event decor business.
Broward Sheriff's Office Deerfield Beach detectives say the suspect, 32-year-old Keshon Litesha Rivers, operated a scheme from May to August of 2025 to steal over $1.2 million from the owners of Event Décor Direct in Deerfield Beach.
An investigation revealed that Rivers targeted Event Décor Direct, a company she had an established professional relationship through her own business, Lock and Key Designs.
Detectives say Rivers used the stolen funds to finance a lavish spree, including:
$85,000+ on high-end gold and diamond jewelry. $55,000+ for a luxury private jet charter from Fort Lauderdale to Los Angeles. $43,000+ for mansion rentals in elite neighborhoods across Miami Beach and L.A.
In an attempt to cover her tracks, detectives say Rivers allegedly went as far as inventing a person. When questioned about the suspicious credit card charges, she reportedly blamed a fictitious individual she claimed was responsible for the transactions. BSO investigators eventually determined that this person did not exist.
BSO developed probable cause for Rivers' arrest and arrested her on Wednesday on counts of organized scheme to defraud, grand theft of more than $100,000, probation violation, creating a fictitious identity, and money laundering.
And this isn't Rivers' first time. Investigators say Rivers was already on probation until 2030 for similar fraud charges out of Polk County at the time of her arrest.

Now let’s see if the courts throw her in jail. We are tired of seeing people charged with crimes and then given a slap on the wrist and set free after 30 days in jail. If you assume you could have earned $100,000/yr doing honest work, she should spend 12 years in jail ($1.2 million divided by her “best” honest job). A couple of harsh sentences would go a long way to deter this kind of behavior. As it is, a wrist slap does nothing...
