Illinois joins WHO global outbreak network after U.S. withdraws

Illinois will join the World Health Organization’s Global Outbreak Alert and Response Network, or GOARN, to counterbalance the federal government’s withdrawal, Gov. JB Pritzker announced Tuesday.

California also joined GOARN in late January.

The withdrawal is complicated because there is no official way to leave WHO and the United States is the only country with the ability to do so. Experts say it’s up to WHO members when the departure is finalized, and they expect the matter to come up in meetings in February and May.

Of course Illinois a top contender for the most economically inept and morally bankrupt state joins WHO. And of course, NPR, a matchless collection of leftist butt-kissing marhmallow majors, agrees. No sentient being gives a corrupt Dorkbama what either of these worthless entities does.

So this is no treaty relationship, and essentially empty virtue signaling by Pritzker and Newsom, in the moment. When they start "donating" to fund the WHO, we'll see if they will pony up actual dollars. I wager not. This is political grandstanding and the media are dutifully blowing up the PR balloon.

I wager they will not send grant money to the WHO, when they can grab it for their local state corruptocrats.
