Homosexuality was not “big” or widespread within the Nazi party; rather, it was vehemently condemned, and homosexuals were systematically persecuted, arrested, and murdered by the regime. While a few individuals with homosexual tendencies, most notably Ernst Röhm, held positions in the early SA, they were not representative of the party, and their presence was ultimately purged, with the regime pursuing the most severe anti-gay persecution in history.
