Question for Americans from a dumb Aussie about the Minnesota thing.
Obama used ICE to deport approx 3M illegals, and got the nickname "Deporter in Chief". And he wasn't even voted in on doing that. There were some protests, but nothing even remotely violet or crazy.
Why is now everyone so violet and crazy? Is there any other explanation apart from Orange Man Bad?

It’s all in how you count it. If someone showed up at the border and wasn’t let in, that was counted as a.deportation under Obama. Trump is actually removing people from the country’s interior after many millions were illegally allowed in under Biden (or whoever was running Biden).

Wear a MAGA hat on a college campus. Get attacked.

When your imported new and rigjt now mostly illegal voting base is about to be exported; when USAID and most other money laundering sources are being shut down, leaving fraud through the illegal community one of the last sources; when a source of societal instability would be removed, eliminating the anarcho part of an anarcho-tyranny ruling paradigm—all these things the only way of keeping one party in power on the wrong side of many 80-20 issues...you bet that party is going to do everything it can to protect it, including riling up the useful idiots for cannon fodder.

And, the Democratic Party benefits from having large concentrations of voters who are lifelong dependents on handouts controlled largely by Democrats already in power.
Fiscal conservatives do not benefit from a dependent citizenry, they rely on an independent citizenry, which is still no guarantee of a vote.
But to varying degrees, some fiscally irresponsible nonconservative Republicans (RINOs) and Libertarians-in-name-only (LINOs) similarly benefit, as do Democrats as well, by creating corporate dependency on government.
Right you had border returns, also when the returning illegals were from the interior (during Obama’s presidency) they were not taken from sanctuary cities or states - thus no uproar.
Quite simply, it’s to create a distraction from the fraud.
You can’t take away billions of dollars and not expect pushback.
President Obama was busy fundamentally transforming the USA into an authoritarian state, trending toward totalitarian, in approved Leftist fashion.
His “deportations” were mostly at the border, they did not threaten the supremacy of Leftists in the USA or their funding.
President Trump’s deportations threaten the structures the far Left in the USA depend on for funding and political control. The far left sees this as an existential threat to their ability to bring down the USA via the Cloward-Piven strategy.
Hence the far left is going crazy to prevent the reversal of the “fundamental transformation” started by President Obama and continued by President Biden.
This is why they are going all-out to stop the Trump administration.
Takes the attention off the multitude of heinous crimes they’re committing.

Or get literally murdered like Charlie.
It’s because politics is a team sport. Obama was on their team.
