First time I heard of him was when he and Robbie played on Ian Dury’s LORD UPMINSTER album from 1981 .

“Jokerman” is particular showed off his talent on that album.
I saw him live playing with Black Uhuru in the summer of ‘82. Sly and Robbie were one of the best rhythm sections ever.
