On a side note, at least $20 TRILLION has been spent on the so-called War on Poverty started by LBJ, and the poverty rate is still pretty much the same as it was back then. Of course, people whose income is at the bottom still have big-screen Tv’s, cable, cell phones, cars, and EBT cards, etc.
And of course, there is the billions of dollars spent on stopping homelessness and the number of homeless is growing.
There are a lot of hands in the cookie jar and our national debt is approaching the stratosphere.
I believe it. Private charities are probably in the same range, too.
