NW Arkansas. It’s been snowing all day. We have a few inches right now. The brunt of the storm is coming tonight. I’ll post update tomorrow.
+1
We missed the storm, but have the COL. 🥶🥶🥶
Only cold temps here so far. Snow isn’t supposed to start until tomorrow morning, until 7 p.m. Monday. Accumulations of 12 to 18 inches predicted.
Blue skies, 25 degrees in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. This storm blew down south through the Dakotas and Minnesota east of us.
We got our three weeks ago with a huge wind storm. Huge trees are down in the forests all over the place. Very dry winter, though. Hardly any snow.
I keep watching the radar — been watching it since it formed last night — and it has never looked that impressive to me. To me, it looks like it isn’t as organized as they’d originally predicted. I could be 100% wrong, though.
It’ll reach us in Central VA in the next few hours, so I guess we’ll find out soon enough...
Very cold in upstate NY, last night went a few degrees below zero, today in single digits.
Very little snow, not even an inch. Today has been mostly sunny. Is that it? Is that the big, historic storm?
One morning when I went to school, back in the early 1970s, it was -22 here, in January or February.
Sounds like the snow is not coming all at once, so don’t try to move it all at once. Y’all be safe.
I live in a rust-belt state, and spent some time earlier today getting supplies in. No big deal. Just in case I can’t get out for awhile.
Here’s one thing I learned from experience. Maybe 15 years ago we had a big storm here, and the power went out for a few days. No worries. I had candles and flashlights.
What I didn’t consider is that the power also went out to the local pumping station. So my water went out, too. That was unpleasant.
Now when I major storm is coming, I fill my bathtub up with water. And I always have glass bottles filled with water. Cheap insurance.

Omaha, NE. It is up to about 6F now, after topping out yesterday around zero. We got about an inch of snow overnight, chances of more light snow today. Pretty normal winter weather here for us (cold but not stormy).
Hope other FRiends are doing as well.
I’d take some snow vs the ice!
Was it 2010 that we had back to back snow storms...about twenty feet. I couldn’t get to work for two weeks.
Agree on the water. I’ve got my water and firewood up to spec.
Up here in the thumb of michigan it’s a balmy -7....
Wife was supposed to fly to Michigan tomorrow. Postponed until Monday. -16 there this a.m. 78 and cloudy here. 🌴
LOL!!!
That’s about normal for up there isn’t it?
Thankfully it appears DFW dodged the bullet on the ice.
