There is an irony in that they all appear to be locally owned businesses, the sort of enterprises that will be shut down after a communist revolution. The national chains are likely afraid of a backlash; giant enterprises like Wal-Mart, Target, and McDonald's are more likely to survive under the current model of Communist economy, which is crony capitalism, e.g., Red China.
