Probably. We had a really bad case in Midland where an alarm company sent out a false alarm to the cops and didn’t tell the homeowner. Cop comes into normal nice house in the middle of the night and an unsuspecting homeowner (middle class guy; engineer, never trouble with the law; little guy) sees a big dude in his house, so he shoots him and kills him.
Well the big dude was a cop.
Murder trial and acquitted, but truly a cluster all around.
It’s a fair point that cops need to be clearly uniformed and have marked cars, mainly for their protection.
